Preserving a legacy of service
The Sons of The American Legion honors the service of eligible parents and grandparents through active community participation. Squadron members support American Legion Post 320 while building their own meaningful tradition of patriotic service. Their work strengthens veterans, children, military families, and neighborhoods throughout Maumee and the surrounding community. Members learn why remembrance matters by participating in ceremonies, educational programs, and volunteer projects. This shared mission connects generations and ensures military sacrifice remains understood, respected, and remembered.
Local Squadron activities may include fundraising, youth programs, veteran assistance, memorial observances, and community improvement efforts. Each activity gives members practical opportunities to develop leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and lifelong friendships. Squadrons often collaborate with Legionnaires, Auxiliary members, and Riders on projects with wider community impact. Members can contribute according to their interests, schedules, experience, and comfort with different volunteer roles. Consistent participation helps the entire American Legion Family serve more neighbors and veterans effectively.
Eligible descendants interested in joining can review the official membership requirements preserved below without alteration. American Legion Post 320 can explain local meetings, dues, activities, and the application process. Prospective members may ask questions through the private contact form before completing an official application. The Squadron welcomes people who value service, patriotism, fellowship, and respect for veterans across generations. Joining provides a direct way to honor family military service while strengthening Maumee and the surrounding community.
